SANTA ROSA, Calif. — The Santa Rosa Junior College Beach Volleyball team delivered a dominant day of competition, earning back-to-back victories over Butte College and the College of the Siskiyous in their home opener, to continue building momentum in the early season.
Against Butte College, SRJC earned a decisive 5–0 sweep, highlighted by strong performances across all five flights. At the No. 1 spot, Davis/Comma battled through a three-set thriller to secure a 20–22, 21–17, 15–11 win. Smart/Amand set the tone at No. 2 with a straight-sets victory, while Brooner/Walker, Melendez/Krohn, and McIninch/Seidler each delivered composed, efficient wins to complete the sweep.
SRJC carried that momentum into its matchup with the College of the Siskiyous, once again claiming a 5–0 team victory. Davis/Comma continued their strong day at the No. 1 flight with a convincing straight-sets win, while Smart/Amand and Brooner/Walker both battled through three-set matches to secure key points for the Bear Cubs. Melendez/Krohn controlled play at No. 4, and McIninch/Seidler closed out the day with a resilient three-set victory at No. 5.
With consistent performances across all pairs and flights, SRJC showcased its depth, competitiveness, and continued growth as the program builds toward conference play, finishing the preseason with a 7-0 record.
The Bear Cubs will look to carry this momentum forward as they open up Big 8 Conference play on Friday, February 27th, at home, with matches against San Joaquin Delta College and Solano Community College.
