The Bear Cubs (16-3, 6-1) were back at home to end the first round of Big 8 Conference play by hosting the Beavers (3-16, 1-6) of American River College. After missing their first two shots of the contest, the Bear Cubs made four in a row—Kaia Eubanks' drive down the middle of the key, Jordan Washington's 1-footer off of Eubanks' assist, Caitlin Baldwin's drive and floater from three feet out, and Washington's fast break layup following Eubanks' steal—for an 8-2 advantage at the 6:35 mark. After Kaia Eubanks drew a shooting foul and made both free throws, Joyleen Vaiangina Talalefiti drained a 3-pointer from the right wing with 4:49 on the clock. The Bear Cubs finished the quarter with a 12-0 run comprised of Eubanks' 1-footer after cutting to the hoop and catching the pass from Hattie Piper, Sydney Martin's 5-footer off of Eubanks' assist, Washington's steal and full court layup, Hattie Piper's 3-pointer off of Martin's inside-out pass, one free throw by Washington, and her 2-footer off of Piper's assist for a 22-5 lead.
The Beavers made two field goals to start the second quarter. The Bear Cubs responded with two free throws by Kaia Eubanks, Amanda Hart's putback, Shasta Vlasak's 3-pointer, and her underhanded layup from the wing to the middle with 4:34 on the clock to extend their lead to 31-9. The Beavers scored one more field goal and two free throws in the period, while the Bear Cubs added Elle Picard's 3-pointer, her pullup shot from six feet out, and Sydney Martin's 5-footer to go into halftime ahead 38-13.
The Beavers again scored first in the third quarter on a field goal by Samiya Jenkins and one free throw by Aniyah Bufford. Jordan Washington was successful on a drive at the 7:22 mark. Bufford made a layup over three minutes later. With 3:40 on the clock Shasta Vlasak cut behind the defense, caught the pass from Hattie Piper, and made the layup for a 42-18 lead. Karley Miller's drive with 2:01 left completed the scoring in the period with the Bear Cubs in front 42-20.
Amanda Hart's 3-pointer started the scoring in the fourth quarter. Over a minute later Samiya Jenkins completed a 3-point play when she was fouled on a shot four feet from the hoop. Jessica Lowe intercepted a pass and made the layup at the 7:41 mark. The Bear Cubs tallied the next five points on Jordan Washington's low post move, her two free throws, and Hart's single free throw, making their margin 50-25. After Karley Miller scored on a drive, Amanda Hart cut to the hoop and caught Madyson Carson's assist. The Bear Cubs' next time down, Caitlin Baldwin banked in a layup off of Bennett Gaylord's pass. Joyleen Vaiangina Talalefiti put in the Beavers' final field goal with 2:46 left. Amanda Hart made two more field goals—a 5-footer off of Gaylord's pass and a 2-foot over-the-shoulder shot off of Caitlin Baldwin's assist to complete the scoring in the Bear Cubs' 58-29 win.
The Bear Cubs' defense prevented the Beavers from getting good shots, and even forced five 30-second shot clock violations. The Beavers outscored the Bear Cubs in the third quarter 7-4, as the Bear Cubs only made 2 out of 14 shots (14%). During the other three quarters the Bear Cubs made a total of 21 out of 42 shots (50%). Samiya Jenkins led the Beavers in scoring with 9 points.
Jordan Washington was again the top scorer for the Bear Cubs with 15 points. Amanda Hart scored a season-high 12 points and led the team in rebounding with 6. Kaia Eubanks added 8 points, Shasta Vlasak 7, Elle Picard 5, Caitlin Baldwin and Sydney Martin 4 each, and Hattie Piper 3. Elle Picard and Jordan Washington each grabbed 5 rebounds.
