After 14 days since their last game, the Bear Cubs (5-2) hosted the Corsairs (6-5) of the College of the Redwoods. The Bear Cubs missed their opening four shots but got on the scoreboard first when Jordan Washington drew a shooting foul and made one free throw. Kaia Eubanks scored two baskets in a row on a drive and then on a 1-footer off of Washington's assist. Caitlin Baldwin's 3-pointer at the 6:05 mark gave the Bear Cubs an 8-0 lead. Itzel Torres made the Corsairs' first field goal 13 seconds later. Eleven seconds after that, Abby Tacla drove down the left side and banked in a runner from three feet out. During the remaining five minutes of the period, the Corsairs put in a field goal and two 3-pointers, while Tacla sank four free throws and Shasta Vlasak two of them. By the end of the quarter the Bear Cubs were in front 16-10.
The Bear Cubs started the second quarter with an 11-1 run in three and a half minutes on Hattie Piper's drive, Jordan Washington's putback, Kaia Eubanks' putback, Washington's layup after blocking a shot, grabbing the loose ball out of the air, and dribbling the length of the court, and Elle Picard's 3-pointer. The Corsairs drained four 3-pointers in the next four minutes, while the Bear Cubs countered with Caitlin Baldwin's 3-pointer, one free throw by Picard, Eubanks' 1-footer on a turnaround shot after catching a baseline inbounds pass, and two free throws by Sydney Martin to make their lead 35-23 with two minutes left. To end the period, the Corsairs added two free throws and the Bear Cubs two baskets on Washington's left-handed low post move and Madyson Carson's putback, to stretch their advantage to 39-25 by halftime.
Mayleah Jackson scored the first basket of the third quarter on the Corsairs' opening possession. The Bear Cubs made two shots in a row—Elle Picard's 3-pointer and Jordan Washington's low post move. Addison Wingate's field goal was followed by Caitlin Baldwin's drive at the 6:21 mark. Jackson went to the free throw line twice and made three out of four, and then she sank a field goal with 4:51 on the clock to close the gap to 34-46. Washington added the next three points on one out of two free throws and a 1-footer on a baseline inbounds play. Nora Talty's basket and Caidence Young's 3-pointer made the score 39-49. In the final minute of the quarter, Washington sank one free throw as did Hailey Webb for a 51-39 margin.
Neither team scored in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter. Then Kaia Eubanks caught Abby Tacla's pass near the hoop and used a low post move to bank in the shot. Two possessions later Eubanks banked in a left-handed shot over a defender from three feet out. The Corsairs tallied five unanswered points on Nora Talty's field goal and Mayleah Jackson's 3-pointer at the 4:05 mark. Jordan Washington hit a 2-footer off of Eubanks' assist and then Jackson swished another 3-pointer. During the next 97 seconds Eubanks made three shots in a row—a baseline 12-footer, a 1-footer off of Caitlin Baldwin's assist, and a fast break layup after catching Washington's long pass—for a 63-47 lead. The Corsairs added one free throw by Jackson and Talty's 3-pointer. Shasta Vlasak's 3-pointer completed the scoring for the Bear Cubs in their 66-51 victory.
The Corsairs kept the game close by sinking ten 3-pointers, while the Bear Cubs only made five of them. The Bear Cubs committed 21 turnovers compared to the Corsairs' 14. For the most part, the Bear Cubs limited their fouling, as the Corsairs shot eleven free throws, making seven of them. The Bear Cubs made 13 out of 18 free throws. Two Corsairs finished in double figures: Mayleah Jackson with 17 and Nora Talty 15.
Kaia Eubanks led the Bear Cubs in scoring with 18 points on 9 out of 11 shooting. Jordan Washington registered her fifth double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Caitlin Baldwin added 8 points, Elle Picard 7, Abby Tacla 6, Shasta Vlasak 5, Sydney Martin, Hattie Piper, and Madyson Carson 2 each, and Hailey Webb 1. Abby Tacla was second in rebounding with 9. Jordan Washington blocked 6 shots.
