CCCAA State Tournament Day 1 Results
SRJC was in 10th at the conclusion of day one at the CCCAA State wrestling championships hosted by Cerritos College in Norwalk CA.
Two Bear Cubs advanced to the Day 2 semi-finals saturday morning and are guaranteed a top 6 place in the tournament.
At 133 lbs Trevor Bagan SRJC N-2 scored a 16-5 major decision over S-3 Joshua Mendoza of Cerritos. He will wrestle David Saenz S-1 Mt SAC in the semi's. 133 lbs Preston Bagan Srjc N-3 won a 17-5 major decision over S-6 Hector Camarena of Santa Ana. In the quarters Jason Valencia S-1 Mt Sac decisioned Preston Bagan Srjc 11-3. In the consolation round, Owen Wilson Palomar S-5 pinned Preston Bagan in 4:56. Bagan was eliminated from the tournament as a result.
At 285 lbs Jacob Larsen N-3 srjc pinned Owen Firm S-6 Palomar in 2:07. In the quarters Jacob Larsen Srjc pinned Borys Peresadko S-2 Moorpark in 1:03. Larson will wrestle Rudy Garcia Fresno N-1 in the semis.
CCCAA State Tournament Day 2 Final Results
SRJC finished in a tie for 10th place with Cuesta College at 29.5 points at the CCCAA State Wrestling Championships. Sophomore Trevor Bagan finished 5th at 133 lbs and freshman Jacob Larsen finished in 4th place and earned an All American award at 285 lbs. Entering the finals matches, The top twelve teams were
