SRJC came away with a huge win on 10/28 against Sac City in Haehl Pavilion. The dual went back and forth with the Bear Cubs ultimately coming away with the 26-14 victory. The win was an entire team effort, starting with Connor Jeong (125) with a big six point fall. Maka Edpao (133), the state's #4 ranked wrestler lost a burner in sudden victory to the #1 ranked Billy Thornton of Sac City. Chase Claassen (141) followed with a major decision 19-8 to give Santa Rosa four points. With Sac City leading 11-10 at the halfway point, David Sypnicki (165) got the momentum going picking up an 8-0 major decision. Ali Hamzia (174) gave the team three more points and Barrett Carrancho (184) added another three for the team giving the Bear Cubs the lead for good, 20-11. Asher Nischke (285) put the exclamation on the team's win with a 1st period fall giving the team a final score of 26-14. Next up for the Bear Cubs is the Simpson Duals on 11/1 at Simpson University.
