SRJC Wrestling won at home on 10/2 improving their record to 4-0 on the season. The Bear Cubs started with a fall behind Derek Ruffin (125) against Kevin Perez of Lassen.  SRJC's Ali Hamzia (141) picked up a big major decision victory over Alex Davidson 22-8. The Bear Cubs then fell behind 10-21 with four matches to go. Zac Morgan (174) stepped up big, swinging the momentum with a huge fall against Lassen's Alex Mara. Jesus Anguiano (184) followed up with another big fall against Brian Mills (Lassen) to take the lead 22-21. Rayhan Jaleel (197) who is currently ranked #1 in the state faced off against the current #6 in the state Andrew Zarate (Lassen) and earned a big 11-3 victory putting the team score at 26-21 with one match left. Joe Ellis (285) fought a tough match before ultimately sealing the team's victory with a fall in the third period against Lassen's Cesar Lopez. Final score SRJC 32 – Lassen 21.
