SRJC Wrestling traveled six wrestlers over the weekend Dec 9/10, to the CCCAA Wrestling State Championship at West Hills College in Lemoore.  These wrestlers included: 125 lbs Jeomar Banda (Vintage), 141 lbs Nik Oba (Rancho Cotati), 141 lbs Victor Alonso-Gil (Ukiah), 165 lbs Elias McAtee (Windsor), 197 lbs Javante Gregoire (Kelseyville), & 197 lbs Frankie Pomilia Iv (Ukiah). Notable performances included Nik Oba (141) with a top 10 finish.  Victor Alonso-Gil (141) with a top 10 finish. Frankie Pomilia iv (197) with a top 10 finish.  Javante Gregoire (197) 7th place medal finish.  Javante Gregoire went 3-2 over the two day tournament and won his final match against a tough D. Peries from East Los Angeles College to earn the 7th place medal. Of the six Bear Cub Wrestlers that qualified for the State Championship, Victor Alonso-Gil, Elias McAtee, and Frankie Pomilia are freshmen.  Way to go Bear Cubs!
