Ally Sather – Head Coach – 1st Season
Ally Sather enters her first season as the head coach of SRJC Beach Volleyball, bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the program. A full-time faculty member in the Kinesiology, Athletics, and Dance Department, Sather is a Santa Rosa native and a standout alumna of Maria Carrillo High School. As a prep athlete, she earned numerous accolades, culminating in the prestigious All-Empire MVP award during her senior year.
Sather continued her volleyball career at Sonoma State University, where she excelled as an outside hitter. A four-time All-CCAA performer and two-time All-Region honoree, she set the program’s all-time career kills record—a mark that had stood for fourteen years. She also holds the record for most kills by a freshman in SSU history. Her dominance on the court earned her AVCA All-American honors as a senior.
In addition to her collegiate success, Sather has an extensive coaching background. She was a dedicated coach with Empire Volleyball Club for twelve seasons and, in 2013, returned to Maria Carrillo High School to lead the varsity program. Under her leadership, the Pumas won four North Bay League Championships and made the North Coast Section playoffs each season. In recognition of her coaching achievements, she was named All-Empire Coach of the Year in 2014 and was a finalist for the Press Democrat’s "Best High School Coach" award in 2015.
Launching the program in 2026, Sather plans to elevate the program's standing in the highly competitive Big 8 Conference. She has coached and developed two All-State Academic athletes, six 1st Team All-Conference selections, and seven 2nd Team All-Conference honorees, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the volleyball landscape in Santa Rosa.
