Erica Ruiz (14'-15') – The decade's most prolific Bear Cub, Ruiz was runner up two years in a row at the Big 8 Conference Championships, won all region honors her Freshmen and Sophomore seasons, and just missed out on All-American honors in her sophomore year. Ruiz ran the fastest finishing time of the decade at the CCCAA State Championships at Woodward Park of 18:45 and owns the 9th all-time fastest mark at the Pat Ryan Course with a time of 18:36. A Rancho Cotate Graduate, Ruiz later transferred to Metro State in Denver Colorado. There she would run two seasons culminating in being apart of the 2018 NCAA Cross Country National Championships.
Ana Palafox (18') – One of the most consistent Cross Country runners of the decade, Ana Palafox was a dominant force for the Bear Cubs. In her short six-month tenure, Palafox led the Women's Cross Country team to their first Big 8 Conference Championship since 1979, won All Conference, and All Regional awards, and tied Erica Ruiz for best CCCAA State Championship finishes. Palafox graduated from Vintage High in Napa California and has continued her education at Napa Community College.
Taylor Falk (12'-13') – Taylor Falk Had a difficult first season, mired in injury Falk didn't hit her true potential until her second season. In her sophomore year, Falk would lead the Bear Cubs to a second place finish in both the Big 8 Conference Championships and the Northern California Championships, the first hardware won by the Bear Cubs since the early 2000's. Falk owns the third fastest time at Woodard Park of 19:21 and finished 31st in the State in 2013. Taylor Falk, a Casa Grande Grad would go on to compete for the Cal Poly Club Team where she would earn her degree in kinesiology.
Evelin Ramirez (18'-19') – Evelin Ramirez was the anchor of the back-to-back Big 8 Conference Championship teams of 2018-2019. Never outside of the top two on our team, Ramirez made her teammate better by leading by example. With a CCCAA State Championships personal best of 20:08, Ramirez had the fifth fastest time at Woodward Park. Out of El Molino High School, Ramirez has one more track season to compete before she transfers and continues her running career.
Angelina Law (16') – With one season under her belt, Angelina Law, found a lot of success. Earning All Conference and All region honors, Law boasts the fourth fastest time at the CCCAA State Championships at Woodward Park (19:58). Law joined the Cross Country team after her second year as a student at SRJC. She was leading all the workouts in her Physical Education class and was convinced to join the team by her instructor Marty Kinahan. Law quickly took her place at the front of the pack. A Santa Rosa High School Graduate Law would later transfer to UC Davis and become an avid Tri-athlete.
Margie Garza (10'-11) – The Earliest entry to the All-decade team, Margie Garza started off the decade with success. Earning First Team All-Conference and All-Region awards her Freshmen and Sophomore years, Garza only featured in one State Championship race. There she would run the 6th fastest CCCAA State Championship time of 20:01 and place in the top 70. More than her finishes, Margie Garza ushered in a new era at SRJC by being part of the first of 9 consecutive team births at the CCCAA State Championships. Garza would go on to transfer to Cal Poly, St. George's University and ultimately Oklahoma State University in pursuit to become a Veterinary Doctor.
Jackie Ramirez (18'-19') – Jackie Ramirez was apart of the Back-to-Back Big 8 Conference Championship teams where she would earn First Team All-Conference honors in 2019. Ramirez was a workhorse who would step up when the team needed her. Her consistency and perseverance would lead her to run down two runners in the final half mile in 2018 to secure the first Big 8 Conference Championship since 1979. A El Molino Graduate, Jackie Ramirez will be transferring this fall to continue her education and running career.
