Working through a tough training week, the Bear Cubs found their legs in the Big 8 Preview meet at Granite Regional Park in Sacramento, CA.  Once again the partnership between Erica Ruiz and Luz Sanchez-Huerta has been tough to beat.  Running stride for stride through the first two miles, Ruiz and Sanchez-Huerta worked hard to run a season best time at a tough and hot course.  If it wasn't for a slight wrong turn, Ruiz and Sanchez-Huerta would have finished together, however, Ruiz finished 4th with a time of 19:45 and Sanchez-Huerta finished 9th with a time of 19:59 for the 5k race.  Trixie Scolari is improving well and she cracked the top 20 to finish in 18th in a season best time of 21:07.  Miriam Lane has improved each race and finished with a time of 24:07.  The ladies will return with a full squad in two week when they preview the course for the NorCal Championships at Crystal Springs in Belmont, CA.
