James Ferguson
Title: Assistant Coach

James Ferguson enters his second season as the Head Assistant Coach of the SRJC Volleyball team. Coach Ferguson is a former Bear Cub having participated on the 2005 State Champion Baseball team before transferring on to play at UC San Diego. He studied math and economics at UCSD, and eventually acquired his Master's in Economics at New York University.

After graduate school, Ferguson came back to Sonoma County to pursue teaching and coaching baseball, as he recognized his interest in working with kids. He helped his sister Kaitlin Ferguson who is the head coach in the fall of 2016 when she was in need of an assistant. The two had an enjoyable season together focusing on coaching up their small squad. Ferguson is very well versed in techniques for jumping and agility, and therefore has a lot to offer the athletes. When he is not on the volleyball court, Ferguson is coaching baseball for The Program in Santa Rosa, and for Justin Sienna High School in Napa, and is also a math teacher at Casa Grande High School.
