SRJC Volleyball is taking care of business at home, and learning from some tough losses on the road. The Bear Cubs started off conference against American River and played a very exciting 5 set match where the teams were separated by three points in the fifth. However, despite the loss coach Kaitlin Ferguson said, "I'm happier with how we lost this week than how we won last week," and continued to comment on how the team has been working on communication and how to be a selfless teammate. That same week of conference kick-off games, SRJC faced Diablo Valley College and easily defeated the opponent in three sets.

During the second week of conference competition, Santa Rosa traveled to San Joaquin Delta College and struggled to defeat the Mustangs in the first two sets before losing in the third. It was not the team's best performance according to the coaching staff, but they encouraged the girls to take it as an opportunity to improve going forward. In their fourth match of conference following the tough Wednesday loss, the Bear Cubs took on the Modesto Junior College Pirates. SRJC had to play with a new line-up due to some injuries, but the team was able to defeat Modesto regardless of the last minute adjustments.

The Bear Cubs take on Sierra College Wednesday, October 14th at 6:30pm in Haehl Pavilion. This is the team's Red Out/Bear Cub Nation match so they encourage all fans to wear red and pack the stands as this will be a big match up for SRJC. Go Bear Cubs!
