SRJC Volleyball started off the second half of conference right last week with a win against Sacramento City College (25-18, 25-27, 25-11, 25, 25-20). Freshmen outside hitters Paula Clarey and Angelica Chesley (pictured) added 27 kills to the match, while Marina Fowler, Bryce Gevas and Becca Steiner took control of the back row with a combined 30 digs. Setter Emily Bonfigli led her team with 36 assists, 10 digs, and 3 aces.

The Bear Cubs were excited about their win, but had just a few hours to go home and rest before facing two more tough opponents the next day. SRJC took on Butte College at noon, and defeated the Roadrunners in an exciting 5 set match with the final score of 16-14 in the fifth set. Freshmen Tori Garzoli and Angelica Chesley added 25 kills, sophomores Bryce Gevas and Becca Steiner helped with 25 digs, and setter Emily Bonfigli provided 35 assists along with 8 digs, and 3 kills.

After a hard fought five set match the Bear Cubs were defeated in three sets by Feather River College. SRJC battled hard against the Golden Eagles, who are currently ranked fourth in the state, but came up a little short in the end. SRJC now moves on to face San Joaquin Delta College at home on Wednesday at 6:30pm. Go Bear Cubs!
