Mike Wortman enters his third season with the Bear Cubs as the assistant coach for the SRJC Cross Country team and the distance coach for the track team.
Wortman began his coaching career at Sacramento State as a graduate assistant, working with both the track and cross country teams. Then moved onto Sacramento City College where he was the assistant coach for cross country.
Coach Wortman attended Rancho Cotate High School, where he participated in cross country and track. After graduating he attended Santa Rosa Junior College followed by Sacramento State University where he also ran cross country and track.
Coach Wortman graduated with a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Sacramento State University. He is also a USATF Level 1 Certified coach.
Coach Wortman resides in Rohnert Park, CA. When not coaching, Wortman is an outdoor enthusiast: mountain biking, rock climbing, and participating in archery.
