In their first official season since 2019, SRJC Women's Swimming is building momentum in the early part of the 2022 season.
The team opened the season with a two meet weekend starting with the CCSF/Ohlone Invitational in Fremont. The team was led by captain Jada Andrews who took 1st in the 500 Free, 6:01.63 and 2nd in the 200 Free, 2:15.64. That same weekend, SRJC also hosted the NorCal Relays meet.
At the Los Rios Invitational in late February, the Cubs had a strong performance with event wins including:
- Gonzalez, Simmons, Andrews, Wells-200 Medley Relay, 2:01.93
- Sabrina Wells-200 Breast, 2:44.08
- Ruby Gonzalez-100 Back, 1:02.79; 200 Back, 2:17.88
- Betsy Mensch-400 IM, 5:48.59
Last week SRJC was honored to host five decades of alumni athletes at the Alumni Meet where we honored former Head Coach Bobby Miyashiro and the 2012 Men's State Championship team on their 10 year anniversary.
Next up the Cubs travel to San Luis Obispo to travel in the statewide Cuesta College Invitational March 11-12.
