After finishing 2nd overall at the CCCAA State Swimming & Diving Championships last year, SRJC women's swimming started their 2019 season with two wins and two second place finishes.

The Cubs opened at home on February 1st, hosting a double-dual meet vs. Alan Hancock and Clovis College beating both teams by nearly 20 points. Sophomore Mary Khattar was a double winner in the sprint frees and was a key member of both SRJC's winning relays. Other SRJC event winners included: 400 Medley Relay-Katie Morrison (back), Alexandra Langley (breast), Khattar (fly), and Molly Davis (free), 4:25.74; 50 Free-Khattar, 26.26; 100 Free-Khattar, 59.68; 200 Back-Morrison, 2:18.30; and 400 Free Relay-Khattar, Morrison, Langley, and Reilly Clarkson, 3:58.34.

That same weekend, SRJC hosted the NorCal Relays meet and finished second to Big 8 conference rival Sierra College.  At that meet the team of Davis, Langley, Khattar, and Morrison won the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.63.

In their final meet in February, SRJC traveled to compete in the Sacramento City Invitational.  The Cubs again finished 2nd out of seven teams. Highlights included wins by Davis in the 500 Free with a time of 5:42.15; Natalie Stavn in the 200 Fly, 2:49.61; Morrison, 200 Back, 2:17.25; Langley, 100 Breast, 1:12.25; and a 1-2 finish by Clarkson, 2:20.68 and Langley, 2:25.77 in the 200 IM.
