This week, the Bear Cubs beat American River 3-1.

Both teams came out hard on Tuesday afternoon and would battle the first half, leaving the score tied 0-0 at the end of 45 minutes.

Once the second half started, the Bear Cubs had a mission to score. SRJC would score first on a corner kick taken by Lexi Martinez. She would find Kaleigh Alves in the box, who would score off of a header to the far post. American River would tie the game up just moments later making it 1-1.

The Bear Cubs reacted and Jacky Sharff would send in a rocket of a shot to the lower right corner of the goal. Natasha Wallace would then secure the game for the Cubs moments later when she took the ball up the left side of the Beaver defense sending in a left-footed shot to the far post to end the game 3-1.

The Bear Cubs travel to Modesto Junior College on Friday October 6th.
