The Bear Cubs traveled to Modesto Tuesday, November 1st and picked up a big road win in the Big 8 Conference. Modesto would score first off of a corner kick in the tenth minute of play. Jessica Jauregui would connect with her head and put the Pirates up 1-0 as the half would end.
In the second half the Bear Cubs came out fighting, keeping the majority of play in the Pirates defensive half. Maleni Avalos would take a shot in the fifth-eighth minute. Pirate Goalkeeper Melissa Ibarra would make the save and knock the ball back out into the box. Pricilla Villalobos with her back to goal would turn and shoot into the upper left corner equalizing the game at 1-1. Villalobos would pick up another goal and win the game for the Bear Cubs in the eighty-first minute. Shelley Marmaduke would send in a lofted ball from the left corner of the field. Villalobos was waiting in the box to knock it down and hammer it in, winning the game for the Bear Cubs.
The Bear Cubs have two more games in the Big 8 Conference. Friday November 4th they will host Sacramento City at 3pm and then will travel to American River to play under the lights at 7pm on November 11th.
