SRJC had a great team effort placing 8 guys to win the Modesto Tournament. Cameron Casey (pictured) went 3-0 and won the 174 lb weight class raising his team leading record to 11-2. Jhaylyn Hall won the 184 lb weight class with an 8-6 over time victory over Tevon Bailey of Lassen College. Bailey was ranked #1 in state while Hall was ranked #2. The win for Hall earned him the tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Trevor Bagan went 3-1 on the day to finish second at 125 lbs to Villoria of Delta ranked #1 in state. Trevor is ranked #3 in state. Josh Wright was also 3-1 on the day to finish second at 165 lbs. Josh defeated #7 state ranked Garcia of Chabot in the semi finals 8-6. Greg Ewert was 5-1 on the day losing to the eventual champ in the quarter finals. Greg beat #7 ranked Gallardo of Mt Sac 12-11 in the consolation semi finals and a 4-2 win over Murdoch over Chabot for the third place finish. Three other Bear Cubs finished fourth to help the Bear Cubs to the team title.
