Bear Cub lose 3-2 on a score in the 7th inning

Saturday's game against West Valley College Vikings was a heartbreaker for Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs , as they lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with West Valley College Vikings batting in the top of the seventh when Tyavana Salazar singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. West Valley pitchers struck out five, while  Bear Cubs sat down one. West Valley College Vikings opened up scoring in the first inning, when Cayla Williams singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. In the bottom of the third inning, Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs tied things up at two when Lily Castro singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Cayla Williams took the win for West Valley College Vikings. The ace lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five. Castro took the loss for Bear Cubs . The pitcher allowed 12 hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one. Mandy O'KeefeHaley TitoneAnna Zoia-Buescher, and Castro all had one hit to lead Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs .

West Valley College Vikings tallied 12 hits on the day. Cayla WilliamsMichelle GonzalezMaddie Grissom, and Kianna Lum each racked up multiple hits for West Valley College Vikings. Cayla Williams went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead West Valley College Vikings in hits. West Valley College Vikings tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Michelle Gonzalez led the way with two.
