Castro Throws Shutout As Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs Defeats Mendocino College Eagles Varsity

Lily Castro had all the right stuff on Tuesday for Bear Cubs , allowing zero runs and besting Mendocino College Eagles Varsity by a score of 12-0. Sullivan Henry led SRJC to victory by driving in five runs. Henry went 3-for-3 at the plate. Henry drove in runs on a home run in the first, a sacrifice fly in the second, a home run in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.

Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs fired up the offense in the first inning. Haley Titone grounded out, scoring one run. Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs put up four runs in the second inning. Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs 's big inning was driven by walks by Anna Zoia-BuescherOlivia Gabriel, and Titone and a sacrifice fly by Henry.

A single by Shaelyn McIntire in the second inning was a positive for Mendocino College Eagles Varsity. Castro was the winning pitcher for Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs . The righthander surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
