The Bear Cubs played host to some of the top talent in the State at the Pat Ryan Invitational at Spring Lake Park on Saturday.

On the men's side, Johnny Vargas is two wins on the bounce with another victory in a very fast race.  Again sitting in the lead pack through the first mile, Vargas came through at 5:10.  Over the next four miles, Vargas took control and came out on top.  Andrew Magdaleno ran a season best, improving his time from the previous race by 27 seconds.  Not only that, but Magdaleno, who was our 5th place finisher at the Norcal Preview in Redding, was able to jump two places and cross the line as the 3rd Bear Cub.

SRJC Cross Country heads into the post season now.  Big Conference finals will be held in Martinez on Friday Oct. 26th.  The NorCal Finals will be in Redding on November 2nd, and the State Championships will be run in Woodward Park, in Fresno, on November 17th.
