Bear Cub Baseball Sweeps Diablo Valley in Three-Game Series

Last week, Bear Cub baseball continued its momentum in another series sweep over Diablo Valley College. Tuesday's two-run, 9th-inning allowed Santa Rosa to win 5-4. Vijay Patel had three strong innings of relief collecting his third win of the season. Jake Scheiner went 1-4 with three RBIs to help the Bear Cubs offensively. SRJC's offense dominated in Thursday's home win, 11-5. The Bear Cubs collected a total of 16 hits, with Ryan Haug, Bryce Nagata, and Mitchell West collecting three apiece. Kyle Mitchell had a stellar appearance on the mound going eight innings, allowing two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts. Friday's win at Diablo Valley included another late-inning rally. DVC tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the 8th inning. The Bear Cubs answered with a 6-run 9th inning, 8-2 final score. A big hit in the 9th was delivered by a bases loaded triple to deep center field by Cyrus Ah Quin. Weston Bryan also collected three hits on Friday. SRJC enters this week against Cosumnes River with a 6-3 Big 8 Conference record and 16-7 overall.
