Baseball Drops Another Close Game to Undefeated Delta

SRJC Baseball dropped another close game Thursday in the top of the 9th inning, to an undefeated San Joaquin Delta College. Garrett Hill, 3-1 record on the season, started on the mound for the Bear Cubs. Hill pitched 7 scoreless innings giving up only 3 hits. The Bear Cub bats were shut down by Delta's pitcher, Dean Kremer, who pitched 6 scoreless innings, allowing only 1 hit.

Going into the top of the 9th inning, the score was tied at 0-0. SRJC reliever, Kyle Mitchell allowed 5 runs on 4 hits in the top half. Going into the bottom half of the inning, Weston Bryan lead off with a single up the middle starting some late action. Jake Scheiner and Michael Walker each added on hits to load the bases. Mitchell West then singled to 3rd base driving in the only run for the Bear Cubs in the 5-1 loss. This puts SRJC at 10-6 on the season, and 0-2 in Big 8 Conference play. They play the final game of the series Saturday, in Stockton, at 1pm.
