American River College was once again locked in a close battle with #1 ranked Santa Rosa JC but the Beavers came up short, losing 7-4 at home on Thursday.  Freshman RF Jonas Dyas (Folsom) had his best day at the plate this season with 3 hits, all singles with an RBI.  Sophomore CF Dominic Ott (Woodcreek) also added a pair of singles.  The Beavers struck first in the 2nd inning after 1B Willie Tatum III (Grant) walked with two outs, he was driven in by SS Darin Eales (Bear Creek) who doubled into right center.  3B Anthony Packard (Colfax) followed that up with a double to right center to score Eales and put ARC up 2-0.  Santa Rosa answered right back with a solo home run in the top of the third off of freshman RHP Tyler Moore (Del Campo).  Santa Rosa added a pair of runs in the 4th inning to go up 3-2 then broke the game open with a 3 run home run in the 5th.  The Beavers bullpen did an outstanding job keeping the game close with Christian Lucero (River City), Jake Morell (Whitney) and Myles Meyer (Placer) all putting zeros on the board.  The Beavers made it interesting in the 8th with an RBI single by Dyas and a sac fly by Tatum to make the score 7-4 but that was as close as the Beavers could get.  The two teams complete the three game series on Saturday in Santa Rosa at 1:00 pm.
