Santa Rosa has always proved to be a difficult place for an opposing team to win. After taking game 1 from the Bear Cubs yesterday, the Mustangs would have to try an awin a series on the road with two consecutive games being played at Santa Rosa. The Mustangs called on ace lefty Robert Gasser to get the job done. Gasser delivered with 6 2/3 innings of four hit baseball and seven strikeouts. He did struggle with command at times with six walks that eventually led to three runs. Jake Standridge relieved Gasser in the seventh and threw a scoreless seventh and eighth before giving way to closer Gunner Mayer. Mayer threw ninth and battled through some inconsistency with three walks of his own that led to a run. Mayer was able to bear down when it mattered most and get two strikeouts to end the threat and earn the save.

Offensively, the Mustangs made up for some lack of execution by collecting two-out rbi's from Taison Corio, Anthony Lucchetti, and Thomas Greely. The big hit came from Blake Dickman who delivered a two run slash double down the left field line for what proved to be the game winning runs.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 13-2 overall and 2-0 in the Big 8. The Bear Cubs fall to 0-2 in the Big 8 and 11-4 overall. Game three will be tomorrow at Santa Rosa JC at 2:00.
