SRJC will be hosting the first round of the NorCal Regional Playoffs for men’s soccer pthis coming Saturday the 20th at 2pm. The No. 6 ranked Bear Cubs will take on No. 11 Merced. The game will be held at S-park in Rohnert Park, CA.
The road to the women's soccer state championships begins this week as well for the Santa Rosa Junior College women's soccer team. No. 7 CCSF will host No. 10 Santa Rosa Junior College on Saturday (Nov. 20) at 2 p.m. in a Round 1 playoff game in San Francisco. Santa Rosa brings an 11-7-2 overall record into Saturday's game and finished fourth in the Big 8 Conference at 6-4-1. Saturday's contest will mark the second meeting of the season between the two squads. On Sept. 24 in Petaluma, the Rams defeated the Bear Cubs by a final score of 5-1. CCSF and Santa Rosa have also met twice over the past four seasons in the playoffs. The winner of Saturday's game will likely face No. 2 seed Hartnell College (17-7-2) in Round 2 on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Hartnell will play either No. 16 Cañada College or No. 17 Yuba College in its opening-round game.
Three wins are needed by the Bear Cubs to advance to the CCCAA Soccer State Championships on Dec. 3 and 5 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
