Violet Johnson, Volleyball

Johnson was a defensive dynamo this past week in helping SRJC win five matches, including upsets over state #14 Butte and #15 Cabrillo. Her combined serve receive average was 2.12 and she totaled 138 digs and served 13 aces. Against Butte, Violet recorded an impressive season-high 41 digs in a 5-set triumph. She is fourth in the state in total digs. As a result she was 2019 CCCWVCA State Athlete of the Week for Northern California, and SRJC's Athlete of the Month. Congratulations Violet.
