Jasmine Alger, Women's Swimming

Freshman Jasmine Alger had a break-out meet this weekend at the Big 8 Conference Championships, posting three life-time bests in her events.  After finishing 12th in the 200 IM and 7th in the 100 Butterfly, she had an outstanding prelim swim in the 200 Butterfly posting a time of 2:16.50, and headed into the finals as the no. 2 seed.  In the finals she had a thrilling "come from behind finish" to not only claim the Big 8 Confernce title in that race, but absolutely crushed her previous time swimming a 2:12.99.  Alger's winning time set a new school record and qualified her to represent SRJC at the CCCAA State Championship Meet on May 5-7.
